Quartet by Astor
Quartet is a very simple Ace assembly. However this is a very special one
because the stand used here opens up the possibity to present this trick
in close-up, parlor or even a stand-up environment. The trick can be learned
within a really short time. The presence of the stand could be explained
in that its existence precludes the use of sleight of hand.
You need the four Aces and twelve numbered cards for the trick. The four
aces are clearlly displayed at the beginning of the routine, front and
back, displayed in the stand, one in each slot. The twelve number cards
are now displayed. Next, the aces are removed individually and shown front
and back and placed on the number cards. Each ace is placed back in the
stand individually, backs to the audience. The stand is then turned around
displaying all four aces. Three of the number cards at placed behind each
ace. Now the magic begins! Immediately, the four cards from each of the
first three frames are shown to be four indifferent number cards-not one
ace among them. Finally the leader ace pile (Ace of Spades) is shown to
contain all four aces! Macdonald's Aces on steroids!
The sixteen cards mentioned above are not gimmicked in any way and the
package includes the stand only and a card case to store your own cards.
The stand itself is made for poker size Bicycle cards. As it is clear already
from the above there are no gimmicked or extra cards. There are no switches
or sleights during the presentation. There are no built in electronics,
no magnets or mechanics in the stand; therefore everything can be examined.
